Nintendo, just like every year, has launched a number of new games for its various gaming consoles such as Nintendo DS, Nintendo DSi, Nintendo Lite, Nintendo Wii etc. Each of these consoles is unique from the rest of the lot. And Nintendo has made a few games, exclusively for the respective consoles. As each console is different from the other, only a few selected games will run on these consoles. Nintendo is releasing plenty of games for Nintendo Wii, not just because of its growing popularity, but also because it has some of the most advanced features. And the good news is that, all these new Nintendo Wii games will be available for free downloads.  One of these games is Aha! I Found It! The publisher of Aha! I Found It! Is Ateam Inc. Applications for the R4 card

You'll have to download the games and applications that you desire to use with your R4 card. There are literally thousands of free homebrew games and applications available online, even commercial Nintendo DS Roms that are the full games for Nintendo DS that you can now copy onto the MicroSD and play them from the R4 DS. Just do a rapid Google search for Nintendo DS homebrew or Nintendo DS Roms and you'll find that there are hundreds of web sites that present up the latest and greatest games and applications for the R4 DS.

The last and final step is to plug in the Micro SD card into the R4 DS and then take it and put it into your Nintendo DS consoles. Once you have all of the files for the menus system and the games on the card, you then just have to cap it in and turn on your Nintendo DS or DS Lite. The NDS will not load the R4 DS card just as it would load a brand new card into the system memory. You just require to press the A button or tap on it with your stylus and you'll now observe a list of the games and applications that you have on your R4 DS. Select the one you want to use and away you go and the R4 card in a matter of just a few second will load up and play the file you have selected.

R4 SDHC

R4 SDHC is currently the leader in DS SLOT-1 Flash Carts. Like original DS cart size, it is an absolutely phenomenal device which offers complete solutions. It eliminates the need to buy any additional components or for that matter but any messy software. It you want easy media enhancement, then R4 SDHC is the easiest solution and it will transform your console into pure entertainment. SDHC like the name suggests stands for Secure Digital High Capacity. This provides higher digital storage capacity. Conventional SD cards will work in SDHC slots but if you have a R4 SDHC card then it will not work on the same slot as on older SD slots. R4 SDHC is normally formatted with FAT32 file system and come in memory sizes of 16 and 32 GB's.

If you have used R4 or any other flash cart, then setting up R4 SDHC is almost identical. The cartridge size of R4 SDHC is the same as the original R4 DS. Some of the key features of R4 SDHC are;

2nd generation storing device
Use Micro SD card just like R4 DS
Are built in No Pass
Save directly to MircoSD card and not to on board chip
They have a user friendly skinnable interface with touch screen or button operation
Support rumble pak and memory pak
Support WiFi game and browser
Support moonshell or other homebrew
They support changes to the background of the operating interface
Support 4 scale lightness adjustments
They support the soft reset
DLDI auto patching
Moonshell 1.6 support software reset function
Full download play support.

You can easily update your R4 SDHC. Once finished downloading you will decompress the new updated files, you will see moonshell folder and two files. You will copy these files to the root directory of TF card to replace the former files.

These days a lot of people are buying the old R4s and they try to put SDHC chips in them but it doesn't work like that because they are not compatible. With R4 SDHC you can buy memory cards that go up to 16 or even 32 GB's.

There is also a school of thought that believes the R4 SDHC is a clone of its predecessor R4. A lot of fake R4 SDHC's have also entered the market that are causing problems to the original customers as sometime they are not sure whether the ones they are buying are original or fake. Companies like Nintendo primarily should take steps to counter this problem because R4 SDHC is primarily used and compatible with Nintendo DS. There are a lot of cards available in the market which support SDHC but then there is no credibility for it so its always recommended to buy the original R4 SDHC which although might be slightly costlier, but it will always give better results and will deliver to its customers what it promises.

R4 SDHC has changed the entertainment and gaming industry because of its very adverse applications and its flexibility and mobility.

R4 FIRMWARE

In the world of Nintendo DS flashcarts, R4 technology has swept the market because of its uniqueness, usefulness and simplicity. People buying R4 do so only to enhance the media experience that they will have with their Nintendo DS consoles. Firmware basically is company imbedded program, rather small programs which will run and operate the particular device that you have. In this case the program that the manufacturer puts in all the R4 cards to run it is known as R4 Firware. Although the firware used in R4 cards is not really that simple, because it allows its users to sort, add, delete and make changes also to the data stored in it. R4 firmwares are mostly free from the official web sites and once downloaded they upgrade the working of your R4 card.

With such a high demand for R4 in the market these days, the makers are desperately trying to maximize the ratio by which they generate firware updates. By doing this the makers want to make sure that the market which they have captured is always awaiting new updates and they get some what of a fan following.

The main working of the R4 card depends on the firware and some of the main aspects the R4 firware are that they make R4 a second generation storage device and there is no booting required for installation. These are built in no pass. They automatically detect save type. They use MicroSD card. They work on any operating system and they support clean rom. Any changes are saved directly to MicroSD card and not to onboard chip. Since they have an open i/o interface so they support moon shell and other homebrew. They also support rumble pak and memory pak. They also support changes to the background of operating interface. They support all WiFi games, DS browser and DS rumble pak. They support any MicroSD card speed without any noticeable lag in game speeds. They support 4 scale lightness adjustments. They support the soft reset. They also support the auction replay cheat.  They have a user friendly skinnable interface. They also support Skin DIY by setting font colors and background on the game menu and main menu both manually or automatically depending on the user's

Due to the extensive diversity that R4 Firmware offers its customers, they can not only store and play games through their R4 card but also watch movies, download pictures or for that matter use it to store and play date just like any other memory flash drive. Since in a normal memory flash drive there will always be limitations like updating it from the web since such concept doesn't exist or is of no use but with R4 new firmwares downloaded from the web, make the R4 device easier and more diverse with each upgrade.

R4 firmwares are available from a lot of different sites but it is always suggested to the consumers that they should only download files to their R4 cards only and only from the original makers of R4 to avoid any hassles.
